Is it sour stomach when your burps smell worse then farts?

My burps are horrendous. The taste in my mouth isn't pleasant but the smell that others can smell when standing several feet away is worse than a fart. What is going on and what can I take or do to get rid of it? I have tried medicines labeled for sour stomach in the past when this happens but they don't get rid of the smell.Anyone have any suggestions? I am a literal fart face right now!
