Crazy American Idol Auditions?

Ok so I was watching some of the most horrendous American Idol auditions on youtube. Do you think theyre all real? Or mostly people going on there trying to be funny...I mean because some of them are just ridiculous and I'm sure they try singing to somebody before going on national tv and that someone would tell them that they are AWFUL
